No SmokingRiver Nest is a hand built 2 bedroom 2 bath jewel perched on the Methow River in Winthrop. Located about 1/4 mile below the bridge, and on the Methow River, with it's face to the river(No River Access), and it's back to the living roof, and the road. There are a variety of outdoor seating areas, which include a river deck (off one of the bedrooms), stone benches (off the other bedroom), and an outdoor picnic/fire ring.
This is a two-bedroom, two bath home, with an open floor plan for the kitchen/dining/living area. There is main queen bedroom with queen bed loft. There is a second queen room and a twin bed loft, with deck facing river.
If you'd like to invite some friends, invite them to stay close by, at George's River House.

Great location with AC that kept the place an "Ice Box" after a 93-degree day. Dips in the nearby river helped out as well!

If I could give the River Nest 6 stars I would! It is an amazing place. I was worried about the noise from Highway 20, but the structure was clearly designed for quiet and privacy, with the green roof and the walls facing the road a perfect foil to noise or intrusion. It was so peaceful to be in the place, looking out on the Methow River; both the living room and the patio (not to mention the bedrooms) have great views out on the water through the trees. Loved the natural wood inside, comfortable furniture, and easy to navigate kitchen with all the things we needed to cook. The location is excellent, only a short 15' walk to central Winthrop. East 20 Pizza, which shares the parking lot with River Nest, is a gem and not to be missed! And the unexpected bonus was the ChargePoint EV charger in the parking lot, which made charging my electric car incredibly convenient.

The property was great after an initial issue with the property not being cleaned. It was taken care of immediately and the rest of our stay was great!

We had a wonderful stay! Really comfortable and inviting place to gather. Nice to be able to walk to the grocery store. Easy parking and well stocked kitchen. Would stay there again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Rivernest! The place has a cabin type feel, which is exactly what we were looking for and provided a nice home-base for us as we did day-trips to the North Cascades national park. My mom really enjoys bird watching and not only was this was the perfect place for such an activity, but there were all sorts of helpful reading materials inside which detailed the local wildlife. The town of Winthrop was also a pleasant and charming surprise! The place is tucked back behind a little center with some other residential spaces and a pizza spot but feels very private and is nice and quiet. Overall, we really enjoyed our cozy stay here and can recommend it to anyone!

We had a nice stay at the River Nest while we were vacationing in the North Cascades. It is a cute and cozy home and we enjoyed the river flowing behind.

Beautiful and charming House has a great open layout overlooking the river, with equally great outdoor space. Fully stocked kitchen, including oils, spices, whole bean, coffee, coffee grinder, and coffee maker. And a good outdoor barbecue grill. Supermarket is less than 2/10 of a mile away, and business district less than 5/10 of a mile from house. Also, owner has provided lots of helpful information about nearby hiking trails, birdwatching, and other things to do. Finally, the house manual had lots of information, leaving us with no questions to direct to the owner. Altogether a truly terrific, four day/3 night stay!

Great location, short walk to downtown, also has EV charger in parking lot which was helpful. We had a 11 month old with us, easy for him to crawl around and watch the river. We loved our stay.
