No SmokingOld West Winthrop, on the river, with a stunning backyard view of the Chewuch River. This historic Winthrop house has been updated beautifully. The kitchen and bathroom are state of the art and charming. The back features lush green grass, with a little bridge that crosses the irrigation ditch, which runs between the house and the Chewuch River. Next door, you can easily traverse the Chewuch river on a walking suspension bridge which takes you on a riverwalk through 13 acres of open space.
The house features two bedrooms with Queen beds. There is a large table to gather around in the river-view back room, or to sit, work, and gaze at the wildlife that gathers at the watering hole below. The front living room is comfortable, and it is fun to watch the Winthrop goings on. Always something! Well behaved dogs with conscientious owners welcome.
sThe rear of the house has easy access to the river as well as to an irrigation ditch that runs from May to early October. The owners would strongly discourage children families with young children, especially during irrigation season and early spring runoff.

We had a great stay in Winthrop. The house is very nice and perfect for two couples. The kitchen is well stocked and the back porch and yard are beautiful; right on the river. It was also nice to be able to just walk right into town!

Back yard is beautiful. Great location. AC in bedrooms worked well with 100 degree plus days. A very nice interior. The bathroom was spacious. The beds are comfortable. Appreciated all the condiments and spices present.
We used to stay in Mazama most of the time when in the valley but when they stopped allowing dogs I had to look for a new place. At the recommendation of a local friend I rented the house for a quick trip with me and the dog to visit friends. House was perfect, I could walk into town (or both of us walked to the pet store) yet easy access to the trails and the Chewuch and Methow rivers for fishing. The backyard was great for hanging out in the afternoon and Lira (the dog) loved having the river there. Kitchen was fully stocked and then dining room had perfect height windows for Lira to look out. I checked out the library and was very happy to see books by some of my favorites - David James Duncan, Harry Middleton and John Geirach. Already planning on coming back with my wife.
It was fun sitting on the chair swing out front playing guitar. The backyard is huge and located on a beautiful bend in the rive river just calling for fly fishing!

We loved the space. So well decorated and clean. The kitchen was great! We loved the back deck so much, listening to the river. Beds were cozy . The air conditioning saved us! We were there for the blues festival. We will be back next year.
This place is exactly as described—right on the water, and also right in town. Internet is only okay. It wouldn’t be good if you wanted to reliably stream video. Kitchen was well stocked with great coffee making options!
If you want a walkable Winthrop experience that also provides a private river retreat, this is the place! Loved the kitchen and how the dining room overlooked the tiered backyard and the river. It was the hottest few days of the summer, but thankfully the house is air-conditioned. If part of the day was too hot to enjoy the yard outside, we were still happy sitting at that dining room table and watch the river go by. Very clean, well appointed, with everything you need. Bonus points for being dog friendly!
Everything was provided. I have stayed at VRBO properties around the world that had the bare minimum in provisions. There was abundance at Libby's Landing. Every scissors!!!
What a lovely home and location on the river, so close to the main drag and still very quiet. It was nicely appointed, comfortable, and we loved the dining room in the back of the house with a river view and large table perfect for playing games. We would definitely stay here again.
