The Lost River area is the jumping-off place for those who like to get away. Winters typically have at least 3 feet of snow, and summers are pine-shadowed and cool, with hiking and biking just out the door. This house is located in the Lost River Community, and its front yard looks onto a grass airplane runway-once the dream of those who wished to establish a down-hill ski area in the valley.

That was before the local people decided on a different path. They chose a quieter life for the valley, and the runway, though presently useable, is a quiet place.

The house is a two-story, chalet-style home with the principal living area on the second story and the kitchen/dining/work areas on the main floor, in addition to a queen bedroom, a bath, and a kitchen wood stove.

Up an interior spiral staircase, or up an outdoor stairway, is the second-floor living room (and bar, for those interested), with a wood stove that the owners use as their primary winter heating. There is also baseboard electric heat. The second floor has two bedrooms-one queen and one double-plus a shared bath.

The heat is electrical. We are providing some wood to start with; however, any additional wood needs to be ordered by the renter. We provided a couple of phone numbers. Any electrical heat beyond 300$ would be an additional cost to the renter.
