Everyone pitched in with this summer's remodel of a 1920 house. It has stunning mountain and river views, perched on a hill above Winthrop, and just a short stroll to everything old west. The house has history, character, and charm, and is furnished comfortably with an artistic flair. A fun place to hang out after some outdoor recreation, with just a short drive to Pearrygin Lake, and miles of trails for all seasons.
This is a two-story house, with one queen bedroom on the main floor as well as the kitchen, living room area, washer/dryer, and bathroom. Off the living room is a large outdoor deck that overlooks the town of Winthrop, with benches and tables as well as a propane BBQ. Upstairs are two bedrooms; one with a single queen bed, and the other with a queen and twin bed, which is located in a separate alcove. There is a 3/4 bath upstairs as well. The house is heated, and cooled, by mini-splits in all bedrooms and the living room.
At the entrance is an anteroom, which is a great place to store your gear. In a separate locked 'work shed', there is a ski waxing area, with the same lock combination as the house. There is off street parking for three cars. Dogs are welcome, given that owners are respectful.

My group and I had a great stay at Kyrie and Kathleen’s. Amazingly cosy house with all the essentials and in a great location. Looking forward to coming back sometime!
Perfect location one block from the main Street. Secure space for our bikes and skis. Well stocked kitchen. We loved watching our 4 legged friends hanging out under the big tree in our yard during morning coffee.
The view from the main room is lovely and there is lots of natural light. The kitchen was very well equipped and the living room is cozy.

We have stayed in many places in the Winthrop area over the years, this was by far our favorite. The house is very cute and very well stocked. It literally had everything. We really appreciated the coffee brewing options, and to have a grinder, score!! It was very clean. We will hope to book it again next year!
We loved everything about our stay at Mountain View Castle. We were traveling with three teenagers, two adults and a dog. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was stocked and the whole place was sparkling clean. We loved the beautiful views, the deer that visited the yard and all the board games available to play. An easy walk to town was awesome, too. Thank you so much!! Would love to stay again.
We had an awesome stay at Kyrie and Kathleen’s place! We’ve stayed in Winthrop or Mazama every Fall for the last nine years and this was one of the best spots we’ve rented. The proximity to downtown Winthrop can’t be beat. The house layout is perfect for 6 people to share. The back deck is a lovely place to hang out when the weather is pleasant. We’d definitely stay here again, if possible!
Wonderful location right next to the downtown. Yet you can relax and enjoy some solitude with the mountain view on a cozy deck. Multiple deers visited us during our stay and the sunsets were beautiful.
Perfect place to stay when visiting North Cascades. The house was in walkable distance to Winthrop town. The house had all the necessary essentials and made us feel like home.
This house is perfect for a group of people visiting the area. Able to sleep 5 of us comfortably with a lovely common space to hang out. Super easy walk into town. Plus, great recommendations from the host and thoughtful responses when our trip into the park was thwarted by fires.

Kyrie and Kathleen’s place is spectacular! The house has everything you could possibly need to feel comfortable. We appreciated all of the small touches (like the many coffee options). The backyard/deck was wonderful to hang out in, and the kitchen area was fully stocked, and the place is an easy walk to downtown. We hope to stay here again in the future and would recommend this location to anyone staying in Winthrop!
I booked this place for two nights as a jump off spot to the North Cascades for hiking. Highly recommend staying here! Super cute house that is right up the street from the restaurants and stores in Winthrop. I would definitely stay here again!
Great stay at this updated & well-stocked home. Easy, two block walk to downtown Winthrop. Nice back deck for meals or relaxing while listening to live bands playing at local places. Stay was even better than expected!
We loved watching the deer passing by from the deck as the sun was setting. Plus, all the different ways to brew coffee kept us happy.
My family had a wonderful stay at the Mountain View Castle. We especially enjoyed the deck and views of the surrounding mountains. The home is very nice and well appointed, and is right above Main Street within walking distance of everything in town. We would gladly stay here again whenever visiting Winthrop!
